Modern Silencer Technology

In 2003 Karl Edminster and Steve Piche founded an engineering company in a barn in southeastern MA, letting off steam in their free time at the local range. Over the years the engineering business grew as they designed and built cutting edge equipment for a wide variety of commercial and government clients. Over time they formed a great group of fellow engineers with forward thinking attitudes, and expanded to a full capability CNC machine shop. The team provided engineering consulting services to the US Naval Research Laboratory and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, including development of specialized weapons systems and components including explosives, initiation systems and firearms components including silencers.

Late in 2017 Energetic Armament, LLC was formed to focus specifically on proprietary engineering, design and manufacture of high performance weapon systems and components. The mission since then has been to deliver high performance, high quality equipment to defense, law enforcement and the firearms community. The entire team is driven to innovate and push new boundaries for weapons technologies. Energetic Armament offers a no-obligation test and evaluation program for qualified law enforcement agencies.

In 2022 Summit Sound Technologies acquired Energetic Armament. Summit is led by two Texas based seasoned outdoors industry executives, Anson Gordon and Josh Rininger. They have both played pivotal roles in growing the overall recreational suppressor market over the last ten years, leading sales teams and building sales channels for some of the largest brands in the business.

The duo partnered with Stuart Thomajan founder of venture capital firm Chameleon Companies to execute on a combined strategic vision to develop and leverage new opportunities in the suppressor and greater outdoors industries products space. 

Their first acquisition was Energetic Armament, and together with Karl and Steve the group is working together on developing new lines of products to complement the existing legacy of quality in the Energetic Arms suppressor lineup.

Today Energetic Armament continues to push the boundaries of suppressor technology from its manufacturing facility in Mattapoisett, MA. Every product Energetic Armament brings to market reflects the same engineering-first philosophy that has defined the company since its founding.
