How to size and select the right Vox Blox
- Find your silencer’s outer diameter. Visit the silencer manufacturer’s website and check their published specifications. Manufacturer specs are almost always the most accurate source & more reliable than trying to measure a finished suppressor.
- If the diameter is an exact match to one of the sizes above, select that block.
- If the diameter falls between sizes, use one of these approaches:
- Up to ~0.010 in. oversized: The clamp ears can be pried open slightly to accommodate diameters up to about 0.010 in. larger than the block. Example: a 1.75 in. silencer can use a 1.74 in. Vox Blox.
- Larger gap: Select the next larger size and shim the silencer body – masking tape or a strip of brown paper bag for a thin shim; a strip of rubber or leather for a thicker shim.

Loosening stuck mounts
Carbon-locked mounts are a common headache. If your silencer rotates when you try to break a tight mount free, slow steady torque often isn’t enough. Instead, give the wrench a sharp tap with a hammer in the loosening direction. The impulse works like an impact wrench – it breaks stuck threads free without risking damage to the silencer body or finish.
